World Water Day

Let’s keep in mind the incredible value of water and celebrate World Water Day. We should read the United Nations World Water Development Report released today in Durban, South Africa, describing the problem of wastewater. “Wastewater is a valuable resource in a world where water is finite and demand is growing,” says Guy Ryder, Chair of UN-Water and Director-General of the International Labour Organization.

There would be so much to do: Once treated, wastewater could prove invaluable in meeting the growing demand for freshwater and other raw materials (as stated by the UN World Water Assessment Programme of UNESCO).

I think I’m about to dive deeper into my research and get some experts to explain what is being done worldwide on this. Stay tuned.
